I Ain’t Me by Mackenzie Critch

Singer-songwriter Mackenzie Critch is an artist to watch, for sure.

She’s the winner of MusicNL’s Newfound Talent prize — a contest designed to discover, develop, encourage and showcase young entertainers. Part of her prize package was a deal to record two songs. Her new single, “I Ain’t Me,” is song number two and the follow-up to the light-hearted “‘03.”

Compared to ‘03,’ the pop-rock “I Ain’t Me” sounds a little heavier and maybe a little darker. In it, Critch explores the struggle to find your voice in the face of adversity.

The single is out now.

I’m looking forward to following Critch’s musical journey — I think there are going to be some exciting work ahead.
