I Will Be There by Baraka

St. John’s-based singer/songwriter Baraka is making fans of everyone who hears him sing and his new single I Will Be There is going to bring that to the next level. It’s soulful, engaging pop that’s going to resonate with listeners.

Originally from Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania, Baraka has been performing and writing music since he was 14 years old. He’s been influenced by Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, and Tracy Chapman… and you can hear it. He’s taken a cue from their brand of radio-friendly pop but made it his own.

With I Will Be There he’s crafted a song that sounds personal but is universally relatable. It was inspired by facing the pandemic in a foreign country, and feeling isolated. The song serves as a sort of reminder that it’s important to take the time to take care of ourselves.

I can’t wait to hear more from Baraka and the great news is, I won’t have to wait too long. I Will Be There is the lead single off his upcoming EP, Voicemail

In the mean time I Will Be There is available at all the usual streaming sites (Spotify) and Baraka keeps a pretty busy performance schedule in the St. John’s area.

Keep up with him on Facebook and Instagram.
