Dancing Where You Left Me Alone by With Violet and DACODA
Who says autumn can’t bristle with the same energy as summer? Not With Violet, that’s for sure.
Their brand-new single “Dancing Where You Left Me Alone” is a burst of electricity — with equal parts heartbreak and happiness. It’s all about reclaiming joy on the dance floor, and it’s impossible to sit still while it plays.
“Dancing Where You Left Me Alone” doesn’t just light-up the season—it pretty much sets it on fire.
The track leads off their upcoming collaborative EP With Friends, produced and co-written by DACODA (Daniel Adams). Each song on the project will feature With Violet alongside a different artist. It promises to take their pop hooks, rock drive, and jazzy flair to exciting new places. And, if the first single is any indication, With Friends is something to get excited about.
Formed in St. John’s in 2018, With Violet — Sarah Newell (vocals & saxophone), Pete (vocals & keyboards), Matthew Cadigan (guitar), Spencer FitzGerald (bass), and Hunter Madden (drums) — has grown into one of Newfoundland’s most exciting acts. With MusicNL awards and memorable festival appearances under their belt, they’ve built a reputation for taking stages and making it their own.
With DACODA’s polished pop production behind them, “Dancing Where You Left Me Alone” doesn’t just light-up the season —it pretty much sets it on fire.

I’m obsessed with music from Newfoundland and Labrador…
It’s fresh, wild, and full of surprises. The artists here are pumping out so much new stuff, it’s hard to keep up. So, I started a playlist of my faves—tons of genres, but the only rule is they’re local and totally repeat-worthy. I update it regularly, so follow along (on Spotify, Apple Music or Youtube).
Trust me, there’s a ton of good stuff coming your way.
