Years ago I fell in love with the band’s ‘That’s Hot x Proxy’ — it’s a fun, high-energy track that gets stuck in my head with regularity. Their 2021 release‘The Operator’ delivers the same infectious energy.

‘The Operator’ is punky track and a sort of love song for/about a telephone operator. It’s fun and, by nature, a bit retro. It’s weird to think of someone operating the phone system.

Hot x Proxy doubles down on the nostalgic fun with a video that wouldn’t be out of place on MuchMusic, circa 1991. I’m thinking Ed the Sock, for some reason.
