The Way East: Poor Decisions
There’s something exciting about The Way East.
The four-piece band from St. John’s, NL blends alternative rock, progressive rock, and melodic modern rock into a sound that feels polished and energetic. Their strong songwriting, memorable hooks, and catchy melodies have been helping the band steadily win over listeners, and their recent run of singles has only built more momentum.
Strong songwriting, memorable hooks, and catchy melodies.
Thankfully, with their latest release, Poor Decisions, they show no signs of stopping.
Poor Decisions leans into a feeling just about everyone can relate to: messing up, learning from it, and moving on. As the band puts it, “We make bad choices sometimes, but it doesn't define us.” Instead of dwelling on mistakes, the track pushes toward optimism, encouraging listeners to look on the brighter side of things, sing loud, and keep going.
It’s a fun song and totally deserves a place on your playlists.
And there’s more to hear.
“Poor Decisions’ appears on the band’s album In-Yun, which is available right now. Check it out.
I’m obsessed with music from Newfoundland and Labrador…
It’s fresh, wild, and full of surprises. The artists here are pumping out so much new stuff, it’s hard to keep up. So, I started a playlist of my faves—tons of genres, but the only rule is they’re local and totally repeat-worthy. I update it regularly, so follow along (on Spotify, Apple Music or Youtube).
Trust me, there’s a ton of good stuff coming your way.
The Way East’s new single Closer takes all the pop-rock hooks of High School Locker and pairs them with sharp lyrics about gossip, drama, and knowing when to walk away.
Chris Hibbs’ first solo single Down is guitar-driven, low-key confident, and built to last.
An impressive ‘make-you-wanna-sing-along’ debut from Newfoundland and Labrador’s The Way East.
