Alice by Kitchinparti

I love Kitchinparti. Over the past few years, they’ve built a body of work that captures the energy of a live musical experience—full of heart, harmony, and the kind of joy you can’t fake. Their latest single, “Alice,” is no exception. It’s a rollicking love song that hits the ground running, bursting with all the charm, rhythm, and tight three-part vocals we’ve come to expect from this powerhouse trad trio out of Pouch Cove.

In a province rich with musical tradition, Kitchinparti has carved out their own sound — modern, melodic, and deeply rooted in Newfoundland’s kitchen party spirit. The ECMA-nominated trio is part of a new wave of trad artists who are keeping the genre fresh, fun, and full of life. And with “Alice,” they prove once again that they know exactly how to get a room singing.

Kitchinparti nails that rare combo: heartfelt lyrics and foot-stomping fun.

The track is the first single from their eagerly anticipated third album, set for release in early 2026. It’s everything you want in a Kitchinparti song.

The band describes “Alice” as a love letter to small-town life, inspired by “a lonely shopkeeper and the apple of his eye.” What unfolds is a sweet, toe-tapping tale of romance that stands the test of time. They nail that rare combo of heartfelt lyrics and high-energy fun.

Backed by award-winning producer Matt Dines, the trio—Tyler Humber, Terri Lynn Hickey, and Justin Hickey—manages something that’s no small feat: capturing the raw, infectious energy of a live Newfoundland kitchen party in a studio setting. It’s one thing to light up a stage, but translating that same spirit into a recorded track is a whole different challenge—and Kitchinparti makes it sound effortless.

“Alice” is streaming everywhere now — check it out!

I’m obsessed with music from Newfoundland and Labrador…

It’s fresh, wild, and full of surprises. The artists here are pumping out so much new stuff, it’s hard to keep up. So, I started a playlist of my faves—tons of genres, but the only rule is they’re local and totally repeat-worthy. I update it regularly, so follow along (on Spotify, Apple Music or Youtube).

Trust me, there’s a ton of good stuff coming your way.
